We've got The X Factor

It's just been announced (2 December 2017) that the winner of The X Factor 2017 will release the Winner’s Duet on Sunday 3rd December at approximately 22:00 GMT. All proceeds from the track are in aid Together for Short Lives and Shooting Star Chase.

The songs will first be performed by the finalists and their respective guest artist on Saturday night’s final. Rak-Su will team up with Grammy-award winning rapper Wyclef Jean; Grace Davies will duet with BRIT Award winner Paloma Faith, who last month topped the UK charts with her album The Architect and Kevin Davy White will be joined on stage by multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Tokio Myers.

Welcoming the news that Together for Short Lives and Shooting Star Chase are benefiting from The X Factor 2017  Winner’s Duet single, Barbara Gelb OBE, CEO for Together for Short Lives said:

“Together for Short Lives is delighted to be benefiting from the X Factor Winner’s Duet Single once again this year – it’s a wonderful Christmas gift, and your generous support will mean so much to the UK’s 49,000 seriously ill children, young people and their families. Hearing the news that your child has a life-limiting condition and is going to die young is heart-breaking. Families can feel very alone coming to terms with their child’s diagnosis, and simple do not know where to turn for help and support.

That’s why working with The X Factor is so important – with your help we can reach out to thousands of families who face the unimaginable, connecting them with lifeline services and support – and campaigning for change so families don’t have to fight to get the care they need and can make the most of every precious moment together. Thank you X Factor.”

The Winner’s Duet will be available to download and stream after the winner of The X Factor has been announced on Sunday night (3 December) and will be The X Factor UK’s 10th charity release. Simco Limited will donate 100% of its profits from the sale of each download and in respect of all audio streaming of the single, and the Chancellor has also agreed to donate the VAT, in each case to be shared equally by Together For Short Lives, registered charity no. 1144022 and Shooting Star Chase, registered charity no. 1042495. This donation will be at least 20p plus VAT for each download sold in the UK.
