Tune into ITV1 for Text Santa, supporting Together for Short Lives
Today is this Christmas’ ITV Text Santa appeal. This year Text Santa will equally benefit six UK charities including Together for Short Lives, the leading charity for UK children’s hospices. The funds raised for Together for Short Lives will support 49 children’s hospices across the country.

X Factor winner's charity single in aid of Together for Short Lives
The two X Factor finalists will perform their prospective winners single live during The X Factor’s spectacular final in Manchester. The song will be available to download once The X Factor winner is crowned on the 9thDecember. Syco will donate 100% of its profits from the sale of each CD single and download to Together for Short Lives. This is expected to be at least £1 for each CD and 20p for each download.

Call for better support for seriously ill young people
Today the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Hospice and Palliative Care heard how Government, the NHS and professionals can improve care and support to young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. The recommendations put to the group were drawn from the findings of a major study, the STEPP Project (Supporting health Transitions for young people with life-limiting conditions: researching Evidence of Positive Practice) into health transitions for this group of young people.
