Much more to do to realise government choice commitment
UK children’s palliative care charity Together for Short Lives has welcomed progress highlighted by ministers today (21 September) in improving choice for children in England who need palliative care and their families. However, it has called on the government, NHS England, clinical commissioning groups and local authorities to work with the charity to do more to bring about better outcomes for the 40,000 babies, children and young people in England with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.

Co-chairs relaunch all-party group for children's palliative care

General election result is an opportunity for a fresh approach
As we digest the outcome of the 2017 General Election we should also reflect on commitments on palliative and hospice care made by some of the parties in their manifestos. This cross-party recognition is good news for the 49,000 children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions across the UK - something Together for Short Lives has been actively campaigning for, so that those with the weakest, most vulnerable, voice have the chance for their voice to be heard and listened to.
