Developing a new approach to palliative care funding in England
NHS England has published a 'draft development currency' for palliative care for comment from the palliative care community. This is the next stage of work to develop a funding system based on the needs of children and adults who need palliative care. NHS England invites comment from clinicians, commissioners and providers to help shape the further development of the model. The engagement period runs until 22 November 2014.

Health and wellbeing boards should consider needs of dying children
Help the Hospices recently assessed the extent to which England’s 152 health and wellbeing boards consider the needs of people approaching the end of their lives in joint health and wellbeing strategies (JHWSs). The research found that only 43% of boards have done so.
