Registration fee
£35

Registration for this event has now closed.

This one-day 26km adventure starts in the beautiful Wye Valley at Bakewell Showground. Join colleagues from across Morrisons to discover everything from stunning valley routes to the spectacular Chatsworth Park. This route also includes a 625m ascent!

We leave the showground and follow the Monsal trail north heading away from Bakewell. Our route continues North and we climb over Longstone Edge before heading East along High Rake. We then descend a little to Deep Rake and then further into Coombs Dale. Upon reaching Calver, we begin heading back South, towards Baslow walking on the Derwent Valley Heritage Way. We continue here through beautiful countryside and through the stunning Chatsworth Park where we may see some deer! The last leg of our challenge heads through undulating Peak District countryside and woodland to Haddon Park before we make our final push along the River Wye and back to the showground to celebrate our achievements.

We anticipate this trek to take between 6-9 hours to complete, depending on fitness and walking speed. As this is a one-day trek overnight accommodation isn’t necessary.

You will have full support on the way, with refreshments and regular rest stops, and a chance to celebrate with a glass of fizz and a medal when you cross the finish line.

What’s included in the £35 registration fee:

  • Packed lunch per person
  • Water stop/s offering snacks
  • Challenge medal
  • Glass of fizz

There is no minimum fundraising target, however £250 could help pay for multiple family splash sessions in a special hydrotherapy pool. Many seriously ill children spend a lot of time in bed or a wheelchair, causing their muscles to get stiff and seize up. In water they can move more easily and enjoy a cuddle with their families, sometimes for the first time.

What’s not included:

  • Travel to and from the Trek
  • Breakfast and dinner
  • Personal trekking kit (trekking boots, poles, etc)

Travel

  • Car parking is available at The Bakewell Showground
  • Closest train stations: Matlock (8.5 miles away), Chesterfield (13 miles away) and Buxton (13 miles away)
