Children’s Hospice Week

Do something incredible #ForTheChildren this Children’s Hospice Week. Children’s hospices provide vital support for children and young people with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition. Everything they do is #ForTheChildren – helping families make the most of their lives together, no matter how short.

Children’s Hospice Week celebrates children’s hospice and palliative care services across the UK, and the seriously ill children and young people they support. This year it’s taking place between 20-26 June 2022

All #ChildrensHospiceWeek we’ll show how important each individual child is to the amazing local hospices who care for them. YOU can help us raise vital awareness and funds for the 99,000 seriously ill children in the UK and the hospices that are their lifeline by…

  • Showing off your pedal power: Inspirational Children’s Nurse, Francesca, is taking on the ultimate cycling challenge, clocking up a staggering 3,200 miles by cycling to every children’s hospice. On Monday 20 June, we’re asking you to support her by pedaling for 54 minutes, to represent the UK’s 54 children’s hospices. You can be as inventive as you want – just make sure there’s wheels involved and let us know what you’re planning!
  • Taking on the 99,000 Steps Challenge: One week. 99,000 steps. A step for every child living in the UK with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition. Sign up for free to take part in this amazing challenge this Children’s Hospice Week! Get involved as a team or individual and step your way to the top of the leader boards. And finally, share your page, fundraise and tell everyone why you’re pushing yourself to your limits.
  • Help us drive change at a national level: children’s hospices are all charities. They rely on the support of generous supporters, but also from government funding through something called the children’s hospice grant. This year we’ll be showing why the government must commit to helping seriously ill children and their families supported by their local hospice by extending the grant, which runs out in 2024. You can play a part in making this happen!
  • Sharing powerful family stories and exciting news from the week: We are proud to be able to tell the stories of some truly incredible families, whose local children’s hospice is their lifeline. We’d love you to help us share these far and wide through all your channels. They’ll also be some exciting celebrity news through the week that we can’t wait to tell you more about… watch this space for the best children’s Hospice Week ever.
