Organising your own event is not only fun but also incredibly rewarding. The funds you raise are vital to helping us ensure every one of the seriously ill children in the UK and their families receive the best possible care, so they can make the most out of their precious time together.
How you raise the money is totally up to you, so you can be as creative as you’d like, and organise any type of event – big or small! We are here to support you every step of the way to help you to maximise your fundraising efforts and ensure you have the most enjoyable time possible!
Whether it’s at work, at home or in your local community, the type of event you do is up to you! However, if you’re looking for some inspiration, here are some ideas to get you started:
- Host a coffee morning
- Organise a tea party – check out our Craft-tea pack for an afternoon of cakes and crafts
- Hold a fancy dress party
- Arrange a curry night
- Hold a pub quiz
- Organise a sponsored leg wax/head shave
- Sponsored run/cycle/walk
- Run a cake sale
- Set up a sponsored car wash
There are loads of other ways to fundraise as well – check out our resources along the side of this page for more inspiration, or contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to receive more advice and fundraising materials.
Please take a look at our Safe and Legal guide to make sure you cover all your bases for a safe, fun event.
Online giving pages are one of the easiest ways to get donations. Any sponsorship you raise via an online giving page comes directly to us, making it easy for you, your donors, and the charity. It’s a quick and convenient way for friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you by debit or credit card, and makes it easy to share your fundraising far and wide on your social media. Just Giving also provides loads of tips and tricks to maximise your fundraising!
Once you’ve decided on your fundraising event, shout about it! The more people who know about your fundraising, the more you will raise.
- Email everyone
- Share what you’re doing on social media
- Advertise at work in newsletters or on noticeboards
- Tell your local paper
- Display posters at your office and in your community
- Invite all your friends on Facebook
