CHAS is Scotland’s national children’s hospice provider, embarking on a new project to establish and develop a world class bereavement support service for the children and families we support across Scotland.

Fixed term post: 2 Years

Location: Flexible

Are you an experienced bereavement support expert? Have you got the skills and qualities we need to deliver on this ambition?

As the CHAS Bereavement Support Development Service Lead, you will:

Design services to support families across Scotland at various stages of experiencing grief and bereavement as a result of child loss.
Develop approaches that CHAS can deploy within the hospice, home, hospital and community environment.
Build credible and effective relationships with a wide range of partners, finding compatibility with existing grief and bereavement services.

This is an excellent chance to employ and develop your skills and experience in:

Providing vital support to children and families referred to CHAS.
Designing and delivering new services to have a positive impact on those families.
Engaging with and providing developmental support to internal and external allies to support those goals.

Effective at working with people, you will already have significant experience in grief and bereavement support, working with volunteers, and out in local communities. Ideally, you will have experience of working on a national level, or will at least be ready to make that move. If you meet the above criteria and are strongly motivated to make a positive impact on children and families dealing with the most difficult of circumstances, we invite you to give our job specification your consideration.

CHAS offers an excellent package which includes access to the NHS or local government pension scheme, and comprehensive work/life balance policies. The role can be based in any CHAS office in Scotland (Kinross, Balloch, Stepps, Inverness, Aberdeen, and Edinburgh).

The post is offered for 2 years initially but may be extended as this service develops. Secondments are also welcome.
