Are you a dynamic children’s nurse with the skills, experience and compassion needed to lead and deliver truly exceptional palliative care to babies, children and young people and their families?

CHAS and NHS Grampian are looking to build on the success of our existing Diana Nursing partnership and recruit a full time Diana Children’s Nurse to support families across the region.

You will have a high level of ‘hands on’ experience with children and their families as well as supporting and enabling other staff involved in their care. Additionally, it is a role with the opportunity to use your highly specialised background to inform and influence the local, regional and national delivery of palliative care.

You will be employed by CHAS and embedded within the children’s service in Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital. This will allow you to work not only in the hospital, but also within our two hospices and across Grampian through our CHAS at Home and family support service.

You’ll work across numerous world leading units within Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital including its neonatal unit and regional centre for oncology, therefore the ability to work collaboratively to provide a seamless service to families will be of paramount importance in this role. You’ll be at the heart of making sure families facing the death of their child, do so with the very best care and support around them.

This post would be a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to make the northeast of Scotland their base. Aberdeen serves as the gateway to the famous Royal Deeside area, with its stunning countryside, rivers, castles and whisky distilleries too numerous to list. Its proximity to the Scottish Highlands means that you can bag a Munro in summer or ski at one of the many local resorts during winter.

Working with CHAS can be inspiring and stimulating – with lots of great benefits including competitive salaries with incremental progression; access to a CHAS or NHS pension scheme; 35 days annual leave increasing to 40 days after five years’ service.
