We are looking for a dynamic, thoughtful, and experienced leader to support a passionate and committed team of Bereavement and Family Support Workers at our Family & Bereavement Support Service. Helen & Douglas House is a registered hospice charity based in Oxford, providing palliative, end-of-life, symptom management, family services and bereavement care to life-limited children and their families. This role would suit a compassionate leader with experience of multi-disciplinary working and a specialist understanding of end-of-life issues. Your excellent organisational skills will be aimed at strengthening, co-ordinating and diversifying our family support and bereavement support services. Your well-developed influencing and interpersonal skills will contribute to ensuring that supporting bereaved families remains at the top of our agenda and strategy. Your post qualifying counselling experience in a health or social care environment will come into play when providing expert advice, carrying out supervision, supporting and training Bereavement Support Workers. A key part of this role will be to develop our model including the role of volunteers within service provision.

As a Team Leader you will contribute to ensuring arrangements for service provision are met, robust and safe operating processes are followed, appropriate administrative processes are adhered to. By working closely with your team, you will support the management of an effective and timely referral system, recording mechanisms, policies and procedures, and data collection for reporting on outcomes. Completing psycho-social assessments for patients and their families will help you develop the advice and information pathway for services which address pre-bereavement and post bereavement needs.
