Trinity Hospice is a charity based in Bispham Blackpool, serving a population of 360,000 across the Fylde Coast. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join the Trinity Hospice Team as the Head of Children and Therapy Services.

The post holder will play a central role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care across a range of services caring for adults, children and their families with life threatening or life shortening illness, and support those through bereavement. These services are delivered within our Children’s Hospice (Brian House) and the Linden Centre.

The post holder will be responsible for and lead the development of both services at a time of further innovative change as we respond to growing demands, changing needs and the opportunities for new partnerships and ways of working across the ‘Healthier Fylde Coast’ Integrated Care Partnership. They will promote and evaluate the service provision to further improve outcomes whilst ensuring the most cost efficient and effective use of resources. The post holder will provide visible leadership to the teams and also support the development of palliative care across the Fylde coast in line with best practice and evidence based.

You will need to have a “can do” attitude and be able to demonstrate our values; you will need to be highly motivated and innovative in your approach. You will need to engage with staff and be an active role model. You will need to have a proven track record in the effective review and development of services, and be able to demonstrate effective change management.

The post holder will be expected to deputize in the absence of the clinical director, so experience as a highly functioning senior manager is essential. The post holder will undertake delegated responsibilities held by the clinical director which may include accountable officer, supporting innovation to uphold our CQC outstanding rating, and delegated tasks held as a registered manager.

For this exciting post you will need the following:

  • A registered nurse/ health care professional with 5 years’ experience in a senior management role.
  • Educated to degree level or above.
  • Experience of managing a range of services.
  • Experience of managing change and service transformation.
  • Sound understanding of strategic and operational aspects of healthcare and hospice care delivery.
  • Experience of multi-agency working in in the wider health care environment.
