We are now looking for a Hospice Matron to join us in our Three Counties Hospice in Worcester to provide expert leadership to the hospice team and be accountable for the delivery of high-quality care, uphold professional standards, develop the hospice team and provide assurance to families and the organisation.
About the Role
As Hospice Matron, you will provide expert, visible leadership to the multidisciplinary team in an environment that can be physically, mentally and emotionally challenging. You’ll lead on patient and employee experience to maintain safety and quality and implement local systems and processes.

You will develop a high-peforming culture, ensuring all incidents and near misses are identified and investigate root causes and identify learning.
You’ll work with your team to ensure recruitment and retention of an effective workforce, supporting employee development and progression. You’ll ensure that all clinical employees receive supervision and support, so that they can carry out their duties to the high standards expected. You’ll deliver service improvement and transformation, empowering teams to take on a wider range of clinical tasks.
You will be a registered child nurse, with a recognised management or leadership qualification and extensive experience of paediatric nursing. You’ll have experience of supporting families who have experienced loss or bereavement.
You’ll be leading a large, multi-disciplinary team in the hospice, so previous management experience is essential. You’ll be highly IT literate, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
You’ll have a strong commitment to the organisational performance and the care that we provide.
