We are searching for an extra special allied health professionals who have experience, passion and pride when caring for babies, children and young people. We recognise that working in a Children’s hospice is very different to that of the NHS and sometimes applicants are not sure which role best suits their experience. We hold Claire House values central to our recruitment process. Therefore, shortlisted candidates are invited to spend time at Claire House ahead of the interview. This time consists of; having a tour of the hospice, mixing with some hospice staff to find out more about the roles, having time to ask questions in a more relaxed environment. There will be a short interview, for which, each candidate will have time to consider the questions and reflect on their experiences to support their answers.

Hospice Occupational Therapist (22.5 hours): Band 6 – £32,306-£39,027 Depending on experience

We are looking to recruit a part time Occupational Therapist to join a small clinical therapy team. This role will have responsibilities similar to NHS Band 6. This role provides direct and indirect occupational therapies to babies, children and young people within the inpatient hospice on Wirral, day therapy hub in Claire House Liverpool and in the community setting to enable children to positively participate in daily life. This role will work as an autonomous practitioner and have a responsibility to advise members of the Claire House and extended MDT.
Experience of working within paediatrics is essential for this role. A range of occupational therapy experiences such as and not exclusive to, sensory processing, postural management, complex equipment and complex health or palliative care is desirable. The ability to deliver training is integral to this role. A full training package will be tailored to the individual.
