About Lifelites

Lifelites is a small charity with a national reach, based in Holborn, London, focusing on providing specialist technologies to enhance the lives of terminally ill and disabled children using hospice services throughout the British Isles. Our aim is to ensure that, whatever their abilities, they are able to play, to be creative, to control something for themselves and communicate – for as long as it is possible. We buy and install all the equipment, train the staff how to use it and maintain it all in good working order for the children for whom every second counts. We are the only charity that does this and we do not charge the hospices for anything we do.

About the role

Over the last four years, we have developed an in house training function to ensure that staff at the hospices are well trained and can ensure that the children that use their services are able to get the full potential from the equipment that we provide. Having installed our equipment at the 60th site this year, a vacancy has arisen at Lifelites for a part-time trainer to assist the training team with planning, designing and delivering face to face training to staff at children’s hospices across the British Isles, as well as to assist in the creation and maintenance of our online and paper learning and training resources.

We are looking to recruit someone based in the south of England for this predominantly home based, part-time role, who can assist the training manager in managing and delivering training to hospice staff at children’s hospices throughout that region.

About you

The right person for the job will be an experienced trainer, who has an interest and passion in assistive technology and technology for special educational needs and has an ability to self-teach on new programs and equipment. They will need to be able to break down barriers with adult learners with a huge variety of skills and experience in using technology, from beginners to experts. As a remote worker, the role would suit someone who is self motivated, organised, mature, has excellent communication skills and is able to work on their own initiative. The role will involve regular travel to both children’s hospices across the British Isles and to Lifelites’ head office in Holborn, London and requires a flexible and co-operative attitude.
