Hospice in the Weald has cared for adults with a terminal illness, and those important to them, for over 40 years. Now, we are launching a Service for Children and Young People, to provide compassionate, personalised, and holistic care for everyone in our community living with a terminal illness, and for those important to them. This is a big step and an exciting time to join our team, as we develop the Service and begin to support children, young people, and their families.

We have an opportunity for a qualified and experienced palliative paediatric nurse to coordinate and deliver high-quality Hospice care for children and young people. The Lead Children’s Nurse will manage the co-ordination and delivery of high-quality care for children and young people in their own homes across the community.

As the Lead Children’s Nurse, you will support a variety of children and young people with life-limiting conditions. This includes:

  • providing clinical experience and insight to lead the development and delivery of the new Children’s Service
  • leading and managing all areas of care within the Service for Children and Young People, delivering high-quality Hospice Palliative care for patients and those important to them
  • building new relationships with sources of referral and collaborating organisations

At Hospice in the Weald, we encourage a culture of empowerment, valuing our staff by offering competitive salaries, promoting professional growth through internal career progression, and we are committed to supporting staff in an ever-changing environment. We are based in beautiful surroundings and offer a generous company pension scheme (or transfer an existing NHS pension) and annual leave entitlement, including long service recognition and the ability to buy and sell holiday. You can view more information about our range of benefits here.

If you would like to be part of the development of an outstanding new Service for children, young people, and their loved ones, please apply now.
