The successful candidate will work as part of the Noah’s Ark’s Care Team, providing effective individual or group Music Therapy to children/young people with life-limiting and life threatening conditions and their siblings in their own homes or at a place of choice.

They will be expected to work in partnership with the child/young person and their family demonstrating sensitivity to the child/young person and family’s needs at all times by promoting comfort, dignity, privacy and quality of life. They will undertake a wide range of duties relating to the safe and effective delivery of Music Therapy to the child/young person following appropriate supervision, training and assessment of competency. Working hours will include evening and weekend shifts as well as day sessions covering term and holiday times.

The successful candidate will be expected to work alongside the wider statutory services community teams. They will be managed and supervised by a Head of Family Link and Therapies, with regular peer support and supervision by the Specialist Play and Therapies Team and work within the guidelines of the child/young person’s personalised play plan as well as the Noah’s Ark policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities:

  • To carry out individual and group work.
  • To provide psychological and bonding support for hospitalised neonates.
  • Report writing, note taking and electronic recording
  • There will be co-working and lone working involved. A personal alarm will be provided.
  • Carry out community work throughout the catchment area therefore car is essential
  • Expected to work flexibly/shift patterns
