Chestnut Tree House is the children’s hospice for East and West Sussex and South East Hampshire, providing specialist palliative care for children and young people with life-shortening conditions.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and passionate Nursing Associates to provide Children & Young People (CYP’s) Palliative Care as part of a multi-disciplinary team, working in the Chestnut Tree House care team.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering high-quality, clinical nursing care to CYP that access Chestnut Tree House inhouse care. The post holder will provide clinical nursing care, delivering a broad range of interventions for CYP and be flexible in meeting the needs of CYP with life-threatening and life-shortening conditions and their families.

It is an exciting time to join the Chestnut Tree House Integrated Clinical Team and be part of our transformation and development of care services. Whilst the post is to predominantly providing in-house care, the post holder will also have opportunities to support community care and end of life care in children and young people’s homes.

Chestnut Tree House offers a comprehensive development programme for staff and in-house training will be delivered to support staff to achieve clinical skills to care for children requiring non-invasive ventilation, invasive ventilation, tracheostomy, and enteral care. Training will also be provided to support staff in providing end of life care.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role and requires dedication and commitment to ensure children and young people are at the centre of care.
