A rare and exciting opportunity to work with Rainbows as they move into their next strategic period. They are looking for someone with a business and commercial background to help us explore how they build on their community and outreach offer across the East Midlands.

Purpose of the Outreach Scoping

The purpose of the scoping exercise is to assess the current outreach services, ascertain demand and identify any gaps or unmet need. It will also bring together a variety of perspectives, a breadth of knowledge and expertise, and help us to develop innovative service solutions.

At the end of the scoping work, we will have the information we require to understand the outreach needs across the East Midlands and how any identified gaps could be met.

The areas in scope are:

  1. Community based services
  2. Hospital in reach services
  3. Adult day-care
  4. Information and Support

Specific Deliverables

The scoping should be grounded in primary research with children, young people and their families so that we can build on research to date, collect and analyse data in order to better understand Rainbows and our operating environment across the East Midlands. This will take the form of:

  • Interviews with external and internal stakeholders including commissioners, the Rainbows senior leadership team, medical staff, care and family support staff, wider operational teams, and children, young people and their families.
  • Conduct market/need analysis.
  • Business proposals and presentations.
  • Identify issues and form hypotheses and solutions (including risks and mitigations).
  • Findings, recommendations (including a cost benefit analysis).
  • Work with the Director of Business Resources to agree basic assumptions and financial modelling.

Time-frames

We envisage that the work will be completed within a three-month period with a final written report and presentation available by October 2019.

Selection process

  • Expressions of interest – By Friday 28th June
  • Formal interview – Week beginning 8th July
  • Contract offer subject to reference – 15th July

Selection Criteria

  • A proven track record of delivering complex projects/programmes within challenging timeframes
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of the health and social care environment
  • Experience of the voluntary/charity sector
  • Able to gather interrogate and analyse complex data
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills
  • Results focused and able to deliver in challenging timeframes
