An exciting opportunity exists for a part-time Play Worker to join our play and therapies team at Tŷ Hafan.

Tŷ Hafan offers comfort, care and support to life-limited children, young people and their families in our hospice, in the community and in their home so they can make the most of the time they have left together. The work we do would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of our staff and volunteers.

The Play Worker will be working as part of our dedicated team to plan, organise and deliver play and leisure activities for children of all ages with mixed abilities.

Key Tasks:
– Initiate and facilitate play or recreational activities in the hospice appropriate to age and level of development.
– Ensuring that play activities are delivered in a timely and targeted way, based on assessed need and principles of child-centred, family focused care.
– To maintain play areas and resources to ensure they are fit for purpose, reporting any issues to a manager.
– To communicate effectively and in a timely and most appropriate manner with colleagues, children and families and maintain accurate, clear and contemporaneous records and documentation in line with Tŷ Hafan’s record keeping policy.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and vibrant individual who has a passion for play! Experience of working with children with complex needs is desirable.

The benefits of working for Tŷ Hafan include:
– Group Personal Pension Scheme with an employer contribution
– Holiday entitlement of 30 days per annum, plus Bank Holidays pro rata
– Professional development opportunities
– Free Parking
– Formal clinical supervision
– Two weeks of specialist professional development

The successful candidate will be required to work within the day, evenings and weekends, total hours can be flexible through discussion.
