St Barnabas Hospices offers specialist palliative care through two hospices: St Barnabas House adult hospice in Worthing and Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice near Arundel in Sussex.

We are looking for an approachable, encouraging and compassionate Pastoral Care Lead with significant experience working in healthcare to join our specialist Patient and Family Support Team and lead the practice of pastoral, spiritual and religious care at both our Adult and Children’s Hospices.

Working as part of the multidisciplinary team, the Pastoral Care Lead is an integral part of the holistic care provided to people and their families at both our Adult and Children’s Hospices.

The pastoral care lead provides specialist expertise to help staff address the spiritual needs of patients and families. You will be the Lead for the practice of pastoral, spiritual and religious care. With experience of working within a healthcare setting, you will lead and develop our contemporary pastoral and spiritual care service, meeting the needs of patients, families and carers of all backgrounds and beliefs. You will work well within a multi-disciplinary team and will enjoy teaching and being involved in the recruitment, support and supervision of a pastoral care assistant and pastoral care volunteers.
