Chestnut Tree House is the children’s hospice for East and West Sussex and South East Hampshire providing specialist palliative care for children and young people with life-shortening conditions.

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about helping plan and deliver training to clinical staff at Chestnut Tree House.

The primary focus of this role is around patient safety and risk management. This is achieved by facilitating the organisational competency framework, encouraging active learning and the transference of skills from underpinning theory to practice. You will work within the Chestnut Tree House education team in a training and development capacity, role modelling evidence based best practice and competence in clinical skills, encouraging individual enquiry and advocating a personal responsibility for learning.

The successful candidate will have experience of providing care to children and young people within palliative care. You will need to have experience in delivering teaching to small and larger audiences and have experience of competency assessment. You will need to demonstrate strong continuing professional development. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills demonstrating innovation in developing and motivating members of the team. Experience in long term ventilation is desirable.

For an informal chat about the role please contact Anna Jones on 01903 871824
