At Demelza, we know we are our People, and with the right people we are able to meet the ambitions and aspirations for support for babies, children, young people and their families. We are committed to being a learning organisation seeking evolution and continually embracing new opportunities and learning. We provide a palliative care career pathway and formal training opportunities for nursing and other staff.

Practice Development Nurses are responsible for translating evidence-based knowledge into practice through supporting and developing individuals and team to identify what needs to change and how to change the practice.

We are looking for a full-time Practice Development Nurse specifically focused on the delivery of our strategy from within our clinical governance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the co-ordination and support of all students within the organisation (these include our own staff as students, pre and post-registration students, apprentices and nursing associates). They will be instrumental in the future planning of the Demelza workforce and have a real focus on staff progression, collaborative working and reaching out to other organisations and institutions. Staff retention and effective recruitment ensure we provide the highest quality care to our children, young people and their families.

The role involves cross-site working but with flexibility. Full driving licence and access to own vehicle for business use – or access to reliable transport arrangements – will be essential.

Demelza provides specialist care and emotional support for children and young people with serious and terminal conditions and their loved ones, across Kent, East Sussex and South East London.

We help with every element of life for a child or young person with a serious or terminal condition by providing tailored care. From diagnosis through to end of life and bereavement services, we’re there for that journey.

Apply now to join #TeamDemelza and be part of our passion and dedication to be there when we are needed the most. For an informal chat please call Michelle Wickens, Clinical Governance Lead Nurse, on 07540 117169.

Closing Date – Monday 3rd January 2022
Interview Date – Thursday 13th January 2022
