Together for Short Lives is the UK charity to make sure the 99,000 seriously ill children and their families can make the most of every moment they have together – whether that’s for years, months or only hours. A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our Fundraising team as a Prospect Researcher.
This is an exciting time to be joining Together for Short Lives as we work towards the launch of our ambitious new strategy in spring 2023. This 6 months fixed term contract will support strategic objectives across the fundraising team, identifying possible funders for Corporate Partnerships (New Business), Trusts, Foundations & Statutory, and Philanthropy teams.
Working closely with colleagues across the fundraising department, and wider organisation, you will producing bespoke research profiles and make initial contact with companies, trusts, and foundations for fundraising purposes.
We are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and inspiring individual who has the ability to communicate and engage confidently and professionally with potential and existing stakeholders, colleagues and professionals. You will be passionate about seeking out prospects, a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently. You will have strong organisation and prioritisation skills, as you will manage multiple and often competing deadlines. Importantly, you will have strong desk-based research skills as well as being confident in communicating face to face and over the phone. You will be curious, tenacious, and adept at spotting new opportunities.
Using this experience, you will gather information from a variety of sources and sort through it to provide concise and relevant briefings and profiles for colleagues. You will have some knowledge of GDPR and the Data Protection as there will be times when you will be working with sensitive information. You’ll carry out your duties with transparency, confidentiality and with the highest standards of ethical judgement.
