Are you interested in utilising your leadership experience to provide specialist palliative nursing care to babies, children and young people in Scotland’s national children’s hospice service?
We are looking for a Senior Staff Nurse, who is passionate about providing expert, person-centred care for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions and their families. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!
This is a really exciting time to join Children’s Hospices Across Scotland – better known as CHAS – Scotland’s national children’s hospice service.
Following internal promotions and the expansion of our services, we have a Senior Staff Nurse vacancy at Rachel House in Kinross, one of the two hospices run by CHAS. As a Senior Staff Nurse with CHAS you will have the unique opportunity to work alongside a highly motivated and skilled team and to be part of an organisation where everyone is passionate about the work we do.
Would you like to use your nursing and leadership skills to make a real difference?
As a Senior Staff Nurse you will provide leadership support and specialist clinical expertise to the multidisciplinary team. In order to deliver the highest level of palliative care and meet the complex needs of the children you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care plans. In creating a home from home environment at Rachel House, you will combine specialist care with making precious memories and moments of joy through play, arts and crafts, outdoor activities and new experiences; ensuring that no matter how short a family’s time together may be, it is a time filled with happiness and fun.
Are you interested in developing your career further?
So are we! Through a comprehensive induction programme and excellent opportunities for learning and professional development, we will support you to reach your full potential. You’ll be able to balance work and home life through flexible-rostering and will receive a competitive salary.
You will have many opportunities to share your knowledge and experience with the wider CHAS nursing team, including student and care support volunteers, and will also be able to develop your experience through working with our CHAS at Home team.
Qualifications and Experience
A registered children’s nurse qualification is essential, as well as four years’ relevant post qualifying experience of working with and caring for babies, children or young people with complex nursing needs.
Be part of our ambition
At CHAS, our ambition is to reach every family in Scotland who is living with the heartbreaking prognosis that their child is dying, and offer them our care and support to empower them to make the most of the short time they have together. As a Senior Staff Nurse, you will be instrumental in achieving this vision and shaping the future of CHAS.
