Chestnut Tree House is the children’s hospice for East and West Sussex and South East Hampshire, providing specialist palliative care for children and young people with life-shortening conditions.

This is an exciting time to join Chestnut tree house clinical team whilst we are undergoing service transformation and development. We are investing in a wide range or roles within the clinical team to support our outreach and engagement with children, young people, and families.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and passionate nurses to provide Children & Young People (CYP’s) palliative care as part of a multi-disciplinary team, working in Chestnut Tree House Care Team.

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of high quality, clinical nursing care to children and young people that access Chestnut tree inhouse care. Providing clinical nursing assessment and a broad range of interventions for CYP’s and flexible in meeting the needs of CYP’s with life threatening and life shortening conditions and their families. They will also have opportunities to develop in and support community respite care in CYP’s homes. We are striving for excellence and have new workstreams to support transition, palliative care, learning disabilities, patient experience and patient safety. There is also the opportunity to develop skills and contribute to these areas of development.

Chestnut Tree House offers a comprehensive development programme for staff and inhouse training can be delivered to support staff to achieve clinical skills.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role and requires dedication and commitment to ensure children and young people are at the centre of care.
