Chris has been the CEO of Jessie May for over 10 years. Jessie May is a Children’s Hospice at Home Service providing palliative care at home for children with life-limiting conditions throughout Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
Prior to joining Jessie May, Chris had a career in International Development beginning in Uganda where he worked on community solutions for children affected by HIV/AIDS, and then moving to Rwanda and establishing a family reunification programme following the genocide in that country. Chris undertook similar work in Bosnia and Kosovo, as well as spells in Sierra Leone and Liberia.
Before going overseas, Chris was a social worker, working mainly with vulnerable children and young people. Chris studied at Bradford University where he gained a BA in Social Work and later a Masters in Social and Community Work. He also holds an MBA from the Open University.
As well as his passion for developing non-institutional care for vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people, Chris is passionate about Welsh Rugby, singing with a local choir and his two children.
