Belle Wooldridge

Belle joins Together for Short Lives as the Education Programme Lead, a maternity cover role for the Head of Education and Professional Development. Supporting the growth & strengthening in relationships amongst professionals from across the babies, children and young peoples’ palliative care sector, alongside the Practise and Service Development team, to bring together research, training and education that is impactful in improving the quality of life for children, young people, their families, and those that support them.

Belle is an experienced UK trained children’s nurse with over 12years Paediatric Intensive Care experience both nationally & internationally. Working within this field, Belle’s keen interest in the care of the imminently and newly bereaved as well as advocating for good end of life care was stemmed. Her passion for supporting good end of life care has since developed and expanded into the field of palliative care, more recently working as a Children’s Community Palliative Care nurse and a Paediatric Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist.

Belle sees taking on the role of Education Programme Lead within Together for Short Lives as an immense privilege. To be able to combine her passion for advocating high quality palliative care with the opportunity to actively contribute to educational delivery where the potential outcomes can radically improve not only the individual experience of a child and their family but also advancements in local and national Paediatric palliative care will have a fundamental and lasting impact on her nursing career.
