Give families a Gift to Remember
Being able to say goodbye, to honour and remember your child’s life after they have died isn’t something any parent should have to think about. But sadly, for many that have cared for a seriously ill child, the pain of loss is compounded by financial pressures causing worry and leaving them unable to grieve.
Our Butterfly Fund exists to provide parents with a monetary gift after their child dies so they can remember them in a special way. Parents may use the grant to buy a precious headstone, flowers for the funeral, a memorial piece of jewellery to treasure or a family trip to celebrate the love of a life lost too soon.
Last winter, applications to our Butterfly Fund soared and we struggled to meet the demand. We’re worried that the same will happen this winter.
By donating to our appeal, you could help a parent at the hardest time in their lives. Whether they choose to buy something to commemorate their child and hold onto forever or to make their child’s funeral as special as it should be, this winter you could give families a gift to remember – the vital support they need, when they need it most.

The Together for Short Lives Butterfly Fund provides a one-off cash gift of £300 to families following the death of their seriously ill child. The Fund is one of the many ways we directly support families via our Family Support Hub.
Donations received in support of the Winter Appeal will help run our Family Support Hub as well as our work uniting the sector and campaigning for change.
