We’re looking for an experienced Business Development Manager (12 month FTC) who is driven to secure high-value corporate partnerships and generate vital income to support seriously ill children and their families.
This role will play an important part in strengthening our work by:
- Securing new corporate partnerships to support Together for Short Lives’ direct work and our National Fundraising Scheme.
- Developing and delivering a business development strategy, including prospect research and pipeline management.
- Managing and developing relationships with prospective and existing supporters.
- Identifying innovative and creative ways to grow income and engagement.
About the role
The Business Development Manager will lead Together for Short Lives’ business development activity, developing strategic plans to achieve income generation targets and KPIs.
You will build strong relationships with identified key prospects, managing and delivering a robust pipeline of six and seven figure new business opportunities. You will also lead on the delivery of creative and compelling applications and visual materials for proposals and pitches.
The role includes identifying sponsorship opportunities and developing our cause-related marketing and licensing portfolio. You will work closely with the Associate Director of Fundraising and the Corporate Advisory Group to identify nationwide partnership opportunities, and build strong relationships with our children’s hospice membership to maximise new business opportunities.
You will also engage in external networking opportunities to raise the profile of Together for Short Lives as a potential charity partner, and regularly report on performance through budgets, financial monitoring and KPI tracking.
About you
You will have proven experience working in a results-oriented environment (e.g. fundraising, sales, marketing or recruitment), with a strong track record of achieving financial targets and securing high-value partnerships.
You will be experienced in negotiating and securing six and seven figure partnerships, and confident building relationships with senior, board-level stakeholders.
You will bring excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to develop and deliver compelling proposals, presentations and pitches.
You will be proactive, resilient and motivated by achieving targets, with the ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively.
A good understanding of the different ways companies can give to charities is essential.
