We are thrilled to announce an amazing three year partnership with Omni Facilities Management (Omni FM) as their chosen charity after a successful company-wide staff vote.
Omni FM is the leading provider of bespoke outsourced services to over 150 hotels across the world, and their partnership will play an important role in supporting our mission to ensure that families caring for a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition, can access the care they need.
Together, the partnership, which is the first of its kind for Omni FM, aims to raise £30,000 to support Together for Short Lives’ efforts supporting seriously ill children and families. The company has already a start on their fundraising through a 5k Santa Run and a Secret Santa text to donate appeal over the festive period, raising around £3,200. Additionally, they have a number of colleagues taking on marathons and half marathons across the country in 2025.
Supporting families in need
With Omni FM’s vital support, Together for Short Lives can continue helping families like Katie and Leia’s.
Katie noticed early on that something was wrong with Leia, from failing her hearing test to struggling with weight gain. An MRI revealed significant brain damage and heart and kidney problems, and at seven months old, Leia was diagnosed with a rare form of mitochondrial disease.
During lockdown, the family felt isolated while shielding Leia and managing her stage 4 kidney failure and subsequent transplant. At this time, the family discovered Together for Short Lives’ Facebook group, where they connected with other families and found support. Katie also learned about online sessions from the Family Support Hub and was gifted a holiday via a Together for Short Lives partnership, giving the family of five an opportunity to create precious memories.
Through the partnership with Omni FM, we can help more families get the care and support that they need via our Family Support Hub, whether that’s financial, care advice or simply a listening ear.
