The children’s palliative care world is constantly changing, with more children living with complex conditions that need specialist round the clock care.
Demand for children’s palliative care is growing, and we know that the number of seriously ill babies, children and young people has trebled in the last twenty years and is set to grow.
Our previous conference focused on unlocking the potential. We used our exit from the pandemic to illustrate and celebrate many examples of innovative approaches for children’s palliative care. Our 2025 conference is all about recognising and sharing best practice and looking to the future.
We will celebrate fresh faces and a variety of voices.
We will lead the way towards a strong, sustainable future.
Together for Short Lives UK conference will:
- Have children and families at the heart of our thinking, challenging ourselves to be bold and innovative, in our ambition to build a resilient and connected sector.
- Variety of sessions for different interest groups for those with an interest in practice, policy, education and research.
- Focus on sharing and networking, giving you the space to talk about your own research, learning and practice.
- Be the “go to” place to talk about our ambitions for the future of children’s palliative care.
- Encourage and celebrate new research, new researchers, and demonstrate the power of research in the delivery of care for children and families, giving students the opportunity to share their learning, ideas, practice and research.
- Showcase new models of care sharing practical ways that you can adapt practice locally, including service development, commissioning services and delivering care for children where prevalence is greatest.
