Are you a qualified Band 6 Nurse with experience in community healthcare? Do you have a background in working with children and/or young people with complex needs? If so, this could be the role for you.

Here at Rainbows Children’s Hospice, we provide specialist palliative care and end-of-life support to over 750 Babies, Children, and Young People living with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, as well as approximately 3,000 people, including families, siblings, and carers, across the East Midlands. Simply put, we’re here to brighten short lives and support families, wherever they are.

Families of babies, children, and young people with serious or terminal conditions are often overwhelmed by the challenges of complex healthcare needs, numerous professionals and appointments, and the ongoing impact on family life. That’s why we offer care and support at home, helping families navigate these challenges with compassion.

We are currently seeking a Deputy Lead Nurse (Band 6) to join our dedicated Hospice at Home team. This role supports the delivery and development of our expanding service, providing high-quality care for babies, children, and young people in their own homes.

Location: This role will require you to travel and work around the East Midlands, focused on our Kettering & Northamptonshire case load. However, you will be required to cover the other 4 counties as well of: Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Lincolnshire.

Hours of work: 37.5 over 7 days with the occasional requirement to start early or finish later due to the needs of a family and the flexibility to do nights, upon discussion. There will also be the occasional need to be ‘on call’ when required by external community services in response to urgent referrals.

Further requirements can be found by downloading the Person Specification.
