Celebs go to ‘infinity and beyond’ for Children’s Hospice Week

News and comment

Celebrities are thinking like heroes and choosing their favourite superpowers in recognition of UK’s children’s hospices which, just like superheroes, are there for children and families when they need them most. Thank you everyone for your support!!

Jools Oliver:

“There are 2 super powers although I actually want them all!! It would be great to be able to multiply myself, that way I could keep all my children happy and spend quality time with them all and still get a pedicure!!! But then I saw healing hands and changed my mind it totally speaks for itself that would be the most incredible power – all the rest pale in comparison.”

Barney Harwood:

“That is so easy! – TIME TRAVEL! – I always wanted to be the next Doctor Who!”

Dermot O’Leary:

“I love diving so my superpower would be underwater breathing so I can stay down as long as I want.”

Michaela Strachan:

“My superpower would be underwater breathing. That would be so cool. I absolutely love diving but sometimes it’s such a palaver putting all the gear on! It would be so fab to just be able to part of the fascinating underwater world and be able to stay deep for as long as you wanted!”

Rik Waddon:

“My super power would be to fly, because i could go almost anywhere plus I have a love of wanting to go into space so that would assist me in achieving this.”

Louis Smith:

“Children’s Hospice Week is all about heroes.  If I could choose any superpower, I would choose invisibility so that I could sneak up and play pranks on people!  Please be a hero for an hour and help families make the most of the precious time they have together.”

Helen Skelton:

“Definitely animal morphing! To run as fast as a cheetah or fly like an eagle would be ace!”

Rebecca Adlington:

“Children’s Hospice Week is all about heroes.  If I could choose any superpower, I would choose underwater breathing as it would mean I could swim faster and of course it would always help me swim away from sharks (if i ever did get over my fear of the sea)!  Please be a hero for an hour and help families make the most of the precious time they have together.”

Beth Tweddle:

“My superpower would be Multiple Me – on a number of occasions I have been or wanted to be at more than one event and haven’t been able to split myself so having a few of me would be quite helpful!”

Alex Corbisiero:

“If I were a hero for an hour, my chosen superpower would be to fly so I wouldn’t have to deal with traffic ever again!  Please show your support this Children’s Hospice Week and be a hero too – I’ve seen at first hand the difference that hospices make and every penny really does count. You’ll be helping families make the most of the precious time they have together.”
