This Christmas, parents and carers of seriously ill children will face many struggles. By donating today you will help remove the challenges they face so they can spend less time worrying and more time simply being a family. Please donate today whatever you can. Any donation will make a difference.
How your donation will help
could help a Family Hub Support Worker pick up the phone to a family in need
could help deliver a food shop to a family struggling to fill their cupboards
could help provide a Butterfly Fund grant to a family struggling financially following the death of their child
You will help parents like Donna
“I worry everyday about Mary but I’m grateful for every day we get because time is precious. Caring for a seriously ill child can be such a struggle. That’s why I reached out for Together for Short Lives.
They’ve supported me in many ways and are always there to listen. They’ve recently helped with our energy bills which means we can stay a little bit warmer this Christmas. Knowing they are always there is a lifeline.”
Why you should donate today
Christmas should be a time to create memories
Every parent wants a joyful Christmas for their child and build memories to cherish. This is particularly important when your child is seriously ill. But many parents caring for a child with extensive health needs are having to choose between turning the heating on or doing a full food shop – let alone planning festive activities for their family.
Families are facing impossible choices and struggles
Whilst many of us may feel the pinch leading up to Christmas with presents to buy and food to prepare, families with seriously ill children are faced with many struggles – both emotionally and financially. But by donating today, you can help remove these struggles so they can spend less time worrying and more time building memories with their child.
Every time you help us pick up the phone, provide a food shop or cover an unpayable bill, you will be giving them a precious moment. Instead of spending time focusing on practical, emotional or financial struggles, you will give them time to create a Christmas as magical as it should be.
What your support will mean for parents with a seriously ill child
Know where your donation goes
98p of every £1 donation will go directly towards supporting seriously ill children and their families.
We exist to work towards a future where every seriously ill child, and their family, receives high quality children’s palliative care when and where they need it. Your donation will go towards the work we do to provide support to families, uniting the sector, and campaigning for change. With your help, no family will face the journey of their child’s short life alone and can instead treasure every moment they have.
If you have any questions about our Christmas Appeal or would like to donate by phone, please call our Supporter Services Team on 0117 989 7820 during weekdays, 9am–5pm.
