Christmas Giving 2018

Christmas tree star decoration

‘Tis the season for giving, and we would be so grateful if this Christmas you would support our vital work, making a huge impact for seriously ill children and their families and helping them find the support and care they need to make the most of their precious time together.

The simplest way to get involved is to make a donation today via our secure website – you can make a one off donation, or set up a monthly donation. If you’d prefer you can also text TFSL15 £10 to 70070, to give £10 direct by text message.

Support us this Christmas

With your support we can be there for families like the Hadman’s, who lost their daughter Effie last year. Effie’s mum Carly describes the support she received after contacting our helpline as ‘priceless’.

The work we do for families like Effie’s relies on your support – whether small or large, your donations can make a real difference for some of the UK’s most seriously ill children and their families.

Together for Short Lives was there for us, when we felt lost. . . It helped us feel less isolated and alone. Its support was priceless

Give while you Give

Another great way you can support our work is by using Amazon Smile if you’re looking for bargains in the Boxing Day and January sales. For every purchase you make, Amazon will donate 0.5% of the price you pay! It’s super easy: just visit smile.amazon.co.uk, login with your normal Amazon account and select Together for Short Lives as the charity of your choice. You then shop exactly like you normally would on Amazon – the only difference is that when you checkout Amazon donates 0.5% of your purchase price to Together for Short Lives. You can do this throughout the year, just remember to go to smile.amazon.co.uk rather then the standard Amazon site whenever you shop there.

Effie and Carly Hadman
Effie Hadman developed Late Infantile Batten disease just before her third birthday. Her mum Carly says the help she received from Together for Short Lives left her feeling less isolated and alone. Find out more about Effie and Carly's story.

If you’re shopping online in the Boxing Day sales, you can also look out for Together for Short Lives on eBay and PayPal checkouts. Between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve when you pay for something through eBay you will have the option to add a small donation to Together for Short Lives to support our work. The donation will be collected by PayPal Giving Fund, and will appear as a separate transaction in your PayPal account. You can also ask PayPal Giving Fund to claim Gift Aid on your donation, boosting its value to the charity by 25% at no cost to you.

Donate your last hour’s pay

A  generous gift to celebrate the end of the year is to donate your last hour’s pay through Just Giving. You can do this as an individual, but it’s also a great way to get your team, or even your whole office involved in supporting even more families at this precious time of year. You’ll be surprised how quickly your fundraising adds up. Your Team Leader or Payroll Department should be able to help you quickly work out just one hours pay. By sharing your page on your intranet or social media, and in the week leading up to New Year’s Eve, you will be able to maximise your fundraising and spread a lovely message of hope and joy.
