Voices for Families is Together for Short Lives’ legal advice and support service that matches families with legally trained experts who act on their behalf, assisting families with specific problems they may be facing.
Working in partnership with Law Works, this service can help families access free support they are entitled to whether that be housing adaptations or having the right care package in place.
We know that many families receive excellent assistance from those public authorities in place to support them, whether they be councils or NHS Trusts. Unfortunately, we also hear of instances where legal duties owed to the children and families are not being fulfilled.
Families living in England or Wales who care for a child (up until their 25th birthday) are able to access Voices for Families. After speaking to a member of our helpline team and with consent from the family to continue, cases that may benefit from legal advice or support are assessed by LawWorks to determine what action can be taken to address the situation.
To learn more about the service or to find out how it may support you, call our Helpline on 0808 8088 100 or read this flyer. Watch our film to find out more about the service and how it helped one family.

How can I access Voices for Families?
Call our Helpline on 0808 8088 100 to speak to someone about the free legal advice and support that may be available to you. Our helpline staff will refer appropriate cases for one-to-one support from a legally trained expert.
Our Helpline works on a call-back basis and is open from 10am until 4pm, Monday-Friday. Outside of these hours and on Bank Holidays, you can still leave a message on our answerphone and we will return your call as soon as we can when the helpline re-opens. Calls are free for callers from a landline as well as specified mobile networks.
Alternatively, you can email us at any time on email@example.com with your query and someone will respond as soon as possible. Any information you provide will remain confidential. Please make sure you provide a valid email or phone number so we can get back to you.
Our legal advice service is generously supported by the Masonic Charitable Foundation and The Goldsmiths’ Company Charity.
