About the role

This is an exciting time to join our activities team whilst we are undergoing expansion, service transformation and development. We’re investing in a wide range or roles within the hospice to support our work with children, young people and families.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and passionate individuals to provide Children / Young People (CYP’s) palliative care by providing activities for children staying in the hospice or in the community setting. Children’s palliative care involves delivering short respite breaks aimed at having fun and ‘adding life’ to shortened years as well as end of life care. You will have opportunities to run outreach groups such as youth group and toddler groups both at the hospice but also in the community setting. The role will also support the delivery of large holiday programmes, running fun days for the whole family to attend.

You will be part of an activities team alongside a multi-disciplinary team including nurses, nursing associates, health care assistants and a child and family support team. The role will involve some evening and weekend work.

We value the vital role of the activities team within the hospice and you will be supported to work autonomously. You do not need to have experience of working in palliative care as we offer a comprehensive development programme along with inhouse training which supports all our staff to achieve skills and confidence.

This role will provide you with job satisfaction, knowing that every day you have given exceptional care. The role will be based at the hospice with a requirement to travel across Sussex and South East Hampshire.
