We are really excited to be able to offer the rare and exciting opportunity to become Demelza’s next Children and Young Peoples (CYP engagement officer. To engage with children and young people who use Demelza’s services to seek their views and involvement to shape and influence current and future services.

To develop a fully inclusive approach to engaging with children and young people including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

To develop and advocate ‘the Voice of the Child’ throughout the organisation.

To promote and deliver opportunities to seek the review of services accessed by children and young people with life limiting and life-threatening conditions and their siblings, to support service development.

The post holder will:
• Develop positive, respectful, honest and supportive relationships with all stakeholders, including children, young people, families, staff and volunteers.
• Develop and deliver a range of methods of participation, involvement and engagement with children and young people including those with SEND.
• Work with Demelza’s clinical services colleagues to seek the views and feedback through ‘the voice of the child’

Hours will need to be worked flexibly to meet children, young people and family availability, including a minimum of two Saturdays per month and some evenings.

This role is a part time role of 30 hours per week, you will also work across our 3 sites, Sittingbourne, East Sussex and Eltham with Sittingbourne being your main base and some remote working too.
