Children’s Care Assistant
Salary: £22,368
Hours: 22.5 per week
(Monday, Tuesday & Thursday – 7.5 hours a day between 8:30 am to 18:30 pm)

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing 1:1 or 2:1 care to individual children and young people with life-limiting / life-threatening conditions in their own homes or other community settings.
  • Planning and delivering group activities and social events for children and young people aged 0 to 19.
  • Working in partnership with the child and family sensitively and professionally, to ensure that the child’s emotional, social, and physical needs are met in a way which enhances their quality of life.
  • Undertaking a range of duties to support the personal care needs of the child / young person.
  • Full training and support to meet any complex healthcare needs and the opportunity for further professional development are provided.

Essential Criteria:

  • Level 3 NVQ Health & Social Care or equivalent or willing to undertake.
  • Experience of working with children and young people
  • Understand the concept of confidentiality.
  • Experience in undertaking basic personal care tasks.
  • Be able to undertake physical work e.g. moving and handling and use specialist equipment when trained to do so.
  • Full UK Driving License.
