About us:
At Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice we care for children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions. We are support around 300 families both in our hospice and in family homes.
Our support services are wide ranging and bespoke to each family including end of life treatment and care, respite short breaks, counselling, sibling support groups, music therapy, home visits and much much more.
It costs more than £5m to keep our doors open for families across South Yorkshire and beyond. We receive around 15% of our funding from government sources.
The role:
We are seeking 3 qualified and experienced nurses to join our rapidly expanding Community Team.
Working as part of our clinical team, you will provide and ensure a high standard of holistic care to children with life limiting/life threatening conditions, to include opportunities for children to experience play, social interaction and learning.
You will deliver child-focused, family centred palliative and end of life care, alongside members of the interdisciplinary team. As part of our hospice at home service, you will work predominantly in the community and therefore must be willing and able to embrace a mobile and agile working model.
From 1st April 2022 all direct care provision and/or close contact roles at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice require full COVID vaccination as a Condition of Deployment. The role of Community Nurse falls into this category.
The requirements:
To fulfil the role effectively you will be NMC registered and have relevant clinical experience and be able to work flexibly and collaboratively across the care services.
