About Us

We are delighted to offer two exciting opportunities to work as a Consultant in Paediatric Palliative Medicine across Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) and the NHS.

These posts represent the ongoing collaboration between CHAS and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHS GGC) and NHS Lothian to develop specialist paediatric palliative care services across all care settings. Of the two posts available, one will be based in the West of Scotland (NHS GGC/ CHAS Robin House) and the other will be based in the East of Scotland (NHS Lothian/ CHAS Rachel House).

These are substantive posts 10PAs (inclusive of 2PA for on-call commitment) joint appointments for Consultants in Paediatric Palliative Medicine (PPM).

The post holders will be members of both CHAS hospice services (including national on-call service) and the Paediatric Palliative Care Teams in either NHS GGC or NHS Lothian depending on the post.

The post holders will provide senior medical delivery of palliative care to infants, children and young people with life limiting and life-threatening conditions within the children’s hospices, hospital, and community. The post holders will be expected to contribute to the strategic development of paediatric palliative care across Scotland, including the delivery of education, training, and research.

You must be fully registered with the GMC and hold a licence to practice, and be on the specialist register, or within six months of attaining your CCT or equivalent to be eligible for interview.

Closing date for applications: Saturday 6th April 2024
Interviews will likely take place the end of April/early May
