Content Manager
St Barnabas Hospices offers specialist palliative care through two hospices: St Barnabas House adult hospice in Worthing and Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice near Arundel in West Sussex. We also have 25 Retail Shops across Sussex.
Are you creative with the ability to source content and stories to inspire audiences? Do you have excellent copywriting skills and experience of working with case studies in a communications context? Telling the stories of the hospices and those we care for is central to our communications strategy and we are looking for a Content Manager to join us on a one-year fixed-term contract.
Reporting to the Media & PR Manager and working closely with the PR Executive, this role involves:
- Working across the organisation to identify and tell the stories of people supported by the hospices
- Interviewing people to share their story through copy, photos, audio or video
- Creating regular care-focused content and stories for fundraising appeals and campaigns
- Writing and editing copy, ensuring a consistent tone of voice and brand presence
- Managing the image library and consents process
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with case studies/stories that are emotionally difficult or challenging and an understanding of the charity sector. Candidates will have a positive and flexible approach and be able to manage projects. Creativity and strong communication and copywriting skills are essential. In return, we can offer a rewarding role that makes a real difference to the work of the hospices – meeting individuals and their families and sharing their inspirational stories.
Due to the remote location of Chestnut Tree House, access to your own transport is essential.
Hybrid working:
The role is based within the hospices in Worthing and Arundel, with the option to work remotely two days a week. Flexible hours will be considered.
Benefits include:
Enrolment onto our company pension scheme, up to 35 days’ annual leave inclusive of bank holidays, free parking, on-site education support, option to join Healthcare Cash Plan and corporate rate gym membership.
