Deputy Retail Operations Manager
Here at Rainbows Hospice, we’re expanding our reach across the East Midlands, aiming to support more families than ever before. As part of this growth, we are rapidly expanding our retail shops across the five counties of the East Midlands, doubling the number of shops over the next five years. This expansion will help us promote Rainbows Hospice within new communities and raise vital funds for our services.
To support this exciting development, we are seeking a Deputy Retail Operations Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of shops, providing line management to shop managers, and ensuring they achieve agreed income and profit levels.
Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, requiring 37.5 hours per week on a 5 out of 7-day rota basis, with the flexibility to cover weekends if needed. The role involves travel across the East Midlands, so having your own transport is essential.
About the role
The Deputy Retail Operations Manager will ensure our shops deliver a high-quality retail service, meeting performance targets and standards. This includes providing exceptional customer care, driving customer loyalty, and maintaining a professional representation of Rainbows Hospice on the high street.
Key responsibilities include:
• Line Management: Lead and empower a team of shop managers, promoting a culture of accountability and achievement in income and expenditure budgets.
• Deputising: Act as the deputy for the Retail Operations Manager, stepping in when needed.
• Stock Management: Oversee the effective planning and management of stock and ensure shop standards are maintained.
• Brand Representation: Ensure that Rainbows’ shops consistently represent our brand, maximising income and raising awareness.

Requirements
• Knowledge of charity retail, how it works and key challenges.
• Promotion of excellent customer service.
• Demonstrable experience of managing, leading and developing staff.
• Business planning and working to targets and KPIs
• Ability to remote manage over a large geographical area
