An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Family Support Worker to join our Family Support team.

Shooting Star Children’s Hospices is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. We support families across Surrey and London from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.

The successful applicant will join a large and vibrant Family Support Team, who work together holistically, maximizing a multitude of skills and knowledge to ensure the best outcomes for families. The team is creative in meeting the demands of an ever-changing landscape, with opportunities to identify new areas of need and develop initiatives. You will have the opportunity to support & assist our most vulnerable families whilst working alongside a team of highly skilled & dynamic professionals. The resources and delivery of care at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices are recognised as outstanding and we look forward to welcoming a new Family Support Worker to complement our team.

The successful applicant will have as a minimum an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care with at least 2 years’ professional experience of working with families of children with complex needs in a statutory or voluntary setting.

The post will be based at Christopher’s Hospice in Guildford but will also need to travel to Shooting Star House in Hampton and across our catchment area.

As you may be required to attend our different sites and family homes, you are required to be a car owner and driver. Please note that appointment will also be subject to DBS clearance.
