Music Therapy Assistant
About the role
We have an exciting new opportunity to join our therapies team as we expand our music therapy services throughout the community. The Music Therapy Assistant will provide specialist music therapy sessions to babies, children, young people and their families by assessing, developing, and implementing programmes of sessions for individuals and groups within the service.
The main duties of the role include;
• To offer musical interventions to babies, children, young people, and their families who are at Rainbows for a period of care, being responsible for the assessment, delivery, and evaluation.
• To develop and maintain a caseload of children, young people and their families who require Outreach and ongoing musical input.
• To plan, deliver and evaluate Music groups as required, both in person and virtually.
• Work with Rainbows Nurses in Hospitals to identify children and young people who require musical input whilst in hospital.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with Babies, Children and Young people in a healthcare setting, using music for therapeutic benefit. You will have knowledge and experience of using music creatively and adapting sessions to meet the needs of the individuals.
Experience of working with Babies, children and young people with complex needs is desirable.
