East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) ensure the best possible quality of life and make every moment count for children and families across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. Our family-centred approach includes specialist nursing care, symptom management nursing, short breaks, wellbeing activities, therapies, care at end of life, bereavement support, counselling and volunteer services in the family home; all meeting the individual needs of the child, young person and whole family.

In 2020, all three of our hospices; The Nook (Norfolk), The Treehouse (Ipswich) and Milton (Cambridge) were rated OUTSTANDING by the Care Quality Commission.

Our people are central to our success. We have a talented workforce of staff and volunteers in Care, Fundraising, Retail, Facilities, IT, Finance, Marketing & Communications and Human Resources.

We employ around 400 employees and have more than 1,800 volunteers across the organisation, including 49 shops and a Retail Distribution Centre.

Shift Pattern:

Hybrid role – working from Manor Barn Farms, Milton or The Treehouse / Home

Full-time 37.5 hours per week – applications for 30+ hours welcome

Are you:

An experienced Fundraiser with excellent communication skills who can manage and develop high level relationships with new and existing major supporters? Able to identify and develop bespoke engagement and cultivation plans that will ultimately help secure five and six figure gifts required to run our services?

​Do you have:

  • The strategic vision to grow our philanthropic income over the next few years?
  • The confidence, maturity and creativity to manage and develop high level relationships with new and existing donors and play a senior role within the Philanthropy & Partnerships team to increase income from high value prospects and donors?
  • Good management skills with experience of leading a small team, nurturing development and managing performance?

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing, implementing and delivering the major supporters strategy.
  • Stewardship of existing major supporters and acquisition of new donors.
  • Designing and implementing a programme of special events with the objective of engaging with new high-value individuals and influencers and existing major supporters.
  • As a senior member of the Fundraising team, building excellent collaborative relationships with colleagues from across the organisation in support of fundraising initiatives to maximise income and awareness for EACH, including the Care team and Finance team.
  • Keeping up-to-date on best practice within the charity sector with a focus on Major Supporters, highlighting trends and insight that could inform planning and support the team with the development of new ideas and practices.
  • Managing two major supporters fundraisers.

The role:

This exciting role will be responsible for developing, implementing and growing our major giving strategy. You will manage and develop high level relationships with new and existing donors and play a key role within the philanthropy and partnerships team to increase income from high value prospects and donors. You will build personal relationships through understanding donor motivations, delivering tailored communications and creating a bespoke donor journey, as well as think strategically about how we grow our philanthropic income over the next few years.

This is a busy, demanding and varied role which requires confidence, maturity and creativity. The role holder needs excellent communication skills, be highly organised with substantial experience of, and a strong track record in, major gift fundraising. Including personally soliciting and stewarding five and six figure gifts from major supporters.
