Chestnut Tree House is the children’s hospice for East and West Sussex and South East Hampshire, providing specialist palliative care for children and young people with life-shortening conditions.

This is an exciting time to join Chestnut tree clinical team whilst we are undergoing service transformation and development. We are investing in a wide range or roles within the clinical team to support our outreach and engagement with children, young people and families.

This is a fantastic developmental role allowing the staff member to work across the inhouse and community team. The blended role allows the development of skills working in house with the opportunity to be a key worker for a small caseload whereby skills can be gained in lone working, autonomous decision making and end of life on call care.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and passionate nurses to provide Children / Young People (CYP’s) palliative care as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Children’s palliative care involves delivering short respite breaks at the hospice and the home aimed at having fun and living well with life limited conditions as well as end of life care.

We have a mixture of paediatric nurses, adult nurses and learning disability nurses working in the clinical team. You do not need to have experience of working in palliative care or paediatrics as Chestnut tree hospice offers a comprehensive development programme along with inhouse training which can be delivered to support staff to achieve clinical skills.

We are striving for excellence and have new workstreams to support transition, palliative care, end of life care, learning disabilities, patient experience and patient safety.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role and requires dedication and commitment to ensure children and young people are at the centre of care.

Benefits Include: Company pension scheme or NHS pension scheme for eligible employees, 27 days annual leave (increasing after each year of continuous service, up to 30 days) + bank holidays, On-site education support and study leave opportunities, Option to access Health Shield and cover your everyday cost of healthcare for less, Corporate rate gym membership, discounts with local complementary therapies and Blue Light Card.

For further information speak to the Clinical Managers on 01903 871822.

Due to the remote location and lack of public transport, access to your own transport is essential.

Closing date: 12 October 2023
