East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) ensures the best possible quality of life and makes every moment count for children and families across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. Our family-centred approach includes specialist nursing care, symptom management nursing, short breaks, wellbeing activities, therapies, care at end of life, bereavement support, counselling and volunteer services in the family home; all meeting the individual needs of the child, young person and whole family.
In 2020, all three of our hospices; The Nook (Norfolk), The Treehouse (Ipswich) and Milton (Cambridge) were rated OUTSTANDING by the Care Quality Commission.
Our people are central to our success. We have a talented workforce of staff and volunteers in Care, Fundraising, Retail, Facilities, IT, Finance, Marketing & Communications and Human Resources.
We employ around 400 employees and have more than 1,800 volunteers across the organisation, including 51 shops and a Retail Distribution Centre.

EACH Care Band 7
Part Time, 22.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: 3 days over a 5 day week.
This part time, Research Nurse position aims to provide a focus for children’s palliative care research that contributes to the building of research capacity and capability throughout EACH.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced nurse who is enthusiastic, adaptable and confident and can prioritise a combination of diverse tasks while working autonomously.
The successful candidate will have prior knowledge or experience of working within clinical research plus knowledge of governance and legislation requirements.
Are you:
- Passionate about ensuring high standards that are evidence based in children’s palliative care?
- Registered nurse with paediatric experience.
- Current NMC registration at the time of application.
Do you have:
An interest in promoting research within a paediatric palliative care setting?
Responsibilities include:
- Support EACH’s strategic plan to act as a Research Participation Identification Centre for relevant research studies.
- Promote research and development in evidence based children’s palliative care practice.
- Evaluate research requests and requirements for EACH participation as a Participant Identification Centre (PIC).
Lead on designated studies which EACH are participating in.
