Claire House Children’s Hospice is seeking to appoint a Trustee with significant knowledge and experience of the health and/or social care sectors, specifically from a governance perspective.

The successful candidate will be comfortable operating at a strategic level, with the ability to support our talented Executive team in striving to achieve our vision to one day reach every dying child and their family. Knowledge of working in a voluntary, non-executive position will be an advantage; as will an awareness of the challenges facing children’s hospices – for example operating in highly regulated environment and with significant funding challenges. This means that experience of commissioning and the requirements of the CQC will be beneficial.

The time commitment for the role is initially 4 Board meetings a year, 4 Clinical Governance meetings and one away day (30 hours per year in total), although there are other opportunities to get involved beyond your immediate areas of expertise, and you will be encouraged and supported to do so as you settle in to the role. Claire House Trustees have a maximum term of office of 6 years.
