“They say the power of making brings people together and
when you believe in something, something you all support and feel proud
to be a part of, it’s amazing what can happen.”

Hobbycraft has launched its famous Christmas charity video, to celebrate its charity partnership with Together for Short Lives.

Our wonderful partner, Hobbycraft has worked with us for over seven years, and during this time has raised over £1,400,000. The retailer raises funds throughout the year, from donations at the till, fundraising workshops in store, to charity walks, bake sales and more.

Katherine Paterson, Customer Director at Hobbycraft comments: “I couldn’t be more proud of the partnership we have with Together for Short Lives. The charity does truly incredible things and our colleagues and customers every year, go over and above to help with raising vital funds and this video brings to life where the money raised goes. This year’s Christmas video is really powerful and demonstrates the power of community that underpins so much of what we do.”

The heart-warming annual video, filmed at Hobbycraft stores, and in children’s hospices in Dorset, Devon and Wales, celebrates all the ways Hobbycraft colleagues and customers have helped to support Together for Short Lives, and truly #MakeADifference.

The video also highlights how Hobbycraft’s customers can raise funds during the festive season. Hobbycraft recently launched an exclusive Frozen II Colour-in Arendelle Castle in collaboration with Disney, with all profits going to Together for Short Lives. For the second year running, the retailer is also selling a ‘Shine Together’ ceramic star decoration, with 50p from every purchase being donated to Together for Short Lives. They’ll also host an in-store Ceramic Decorating Workshop in all 99 of their stores across the UK and Northern Ireland on Saturday 23 November, with £1 from each workshop ticket sold being donated to Together for Short Lives.

Karen Yates, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Together for Short Lives says “This film shows the amazing contribution that Hobbycraft colleagues and customers make for seriously ill children and their families every single day. We love how Hobbycraft has captured the special moments that are made at children’s hospices up and down the UK – at Children’s Hospice South West, Ty Hafan and Julia’s House, from crafting together to sharing sensory fun. Thank you Hobbycraft for supporting Together for Short Lives and helping more families make memories together.”
